About Orion Center, Inc.

Support the Orion Center and strike a blow for educational excellence. Orion Science Center is the fun learning place for kids and adults at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Whether you like rockets or dinosaur fossils...indoor museum or outdoor activities - it's the place for you. Here is what our visitors have had to say:

"Thank you so much for the biblical based information that you provided! It isn't very often that you see a SCIENCE center show that you were not made from MONKEYS! Since I homeschool my children, it was also awesome that my kids got to experience some "hands on" fun without it seeming like homework! I will recommend your place to all of our Christian friends."

"My students really enjoyed your Orion Center. What a wonderful collection of science activities. Thank you so much for helping these children. I only wish we had had more time."

Indoor attractions include space exhibits, the Clifford Wilson Archaeology Collection, the Bone Room featuring a life-size cast of the head of Stan the T-Rex, the Science Lab and more. Then go on an adventure to the land of the dinosaurs in our DinoSpace Adventure Fun Park where civilized technolgy confronts the dinosaurs. Walk an Ozarks nature trail while you build and launch a paper rocket, shoot a Tyranosaurus with a trebuchet, fight off giant beasts with the water balloon Slingasuarus and climb into a tree on the liftasaurus.

Beyond all the fun, Orion Center has a serious intent. Intellectual freedom is one of our foremost values. We appeal to both secular educators and people of faith by presenting both material evolution and creation/design interpretations in our exhibits. We can do this because good science is at the heart of every exhibit so that no real fan of the scientific method can be offended. We let visitors make up their own minds about which interpretation they prefer while primarily learning real science. In this way, we hope to foster critical thinking and encourage dialog rather than divisiveness.

Orion Center is a not-for-profit science center and museum located on Highway 5 about a mile south of the Hwy 54 intersection in Camdenton, Missouri. Admission for all day is only $6. Call for hours at (573)346-5516 or (866)938-ORION or check out our web site at www.orioncenter.org.
