The StraightWay Training Center is a division of StraightWay, Inc., a non-profit (501-C-3) organization governed by a Board of Directors, and is a member of the Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston.
StraightWay's Training Center occupies a 17-acre, renovated school facility in Hungerford, Texas, located near Houston. It provides a residential therapeutic, non-sectarian, Christian-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, founded in 1975. SWTC has been for over three decades the only program of its type to provide treatment for whole families, unwed mothers, single parents with children, and single adult males and females. StraightWay is a registered, faith-based program with the Texas Commission on Alcohol & Drug Abuse as a chemical dependency treatment facility.
In order to curb the rising tide of drug abuse, StraightWay also operates the largest drug prevention program in Texas' public schools, giving a message of hope to millions of people all over Texas, as well as in the Midwest and western United States. The StraightWay Team has visited almost 5 million young people since their start in 1975, and performs over 1,000 school presentations each year.
